Contribution of sewing machinery in Mark and Start training center for physically challenged people.

Marks & Start is the flagship CSR program of Marks & Spencer in Bangladesh, which is in association with Centre for the Rehabilitation of the Paralyzed (CRP). This program has been trying to rehabilitate physically challenged people in the garment industry with a view of including them in mainstream employment in the garment sector. They have successfully trained and employed more than 1200 physically challenged people through this project across our supply base in Bangladesh since 2006. Meghna Knit Composite has been a part of Mark and Start Program since 2015; it has contributed to expansion of Marks & Start training center at Gonokbari, Savar and Dhaka by donating two sewing machines.

Meghna knit composite Ltd. recruited individuals from the center for the rehabilitation of the paralyzed (CRP)- Bangladesh, under the ‘marks & Start Program’ of M&S. Marks & Start program helps disabled people, people with health conditions, young people, single parents and people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness. They have official partnership with many organizations in the world; among which CRP is an internationally respected organization.

Relief distribution to flood affected people.

There are several ways to get involved in humanitarian work and we believe natural disaster is one the worst situation where we must involve ourselves. Back in 2007 when flood hit many part of Bangladesh we feel an obligation to help those people, we distributed foods and medicines to the flood affected people in many region such as Paikchora, Vungmorara Kurigram and many other places.
